PPWR - The new European Packaging Regulation

Regulation (EU) 2025/40, known as the PPWR - Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation - entered into force on 11 February 2025 and will apply in practice separately from 12 August 2026. An important change of pace for the entire packaging industry.
The goal is clear: to reduce the production of packaging waste, increase recycling levels, and foster circular economy models along the entire supply chain. The text includes binding waste reduction targets of 5% by 2030, 10% by 2035 and 15% by 2040, as well as requirements for recycled content and recyclability of packaging.
For many companies, this is a U-turn. For Plastivalle, it is confirmation of a direction that has already been taken for some time.
Our bottles, jerry cans and vases are made of 100% recyclable materials. For years we have been integrating recycled plastic into our production processes and working to reduce the weight of containers without compromising their strength - less material, same quality standard.
The PPWR does not catch us unprepared. He already finds us at work.
